FURONGZHEN

芙蓉镇

Furongzhen is a town in south Youngshun County, Xiangxi Prefecture, Hunan, China. It came to fame when the Ancient Town was used to shoot a drama film called Hibiscus Town, which went on to win several awards. Even Xi Jinping toured the town for it’s famous rice tofu (before he became Chairman, of course). The old city is most famous in modern Chinese history for its notorious bandits that ruled the area for decades.
